BMX WORLD CHALLENGE

How Do I Qualify?

To automatically qualify to ride for NZ at 2025 UCI BMX World Challenge in Copenhagen you must:

  1. be a NZ citizen and
  2. finish top 8 in either the 2024 or 2025 BMXNZ National Championships

If you do not achieve the second criteria for automatic qualification, an alternative pathway exists to apply for a wild card entry through the BMXNZ Challenge entry system when entries open in March.  This is the common pathway for NZ riders living offshore.

In the event there are more wild card entry requests than the NZ quota available, prioritisation of wild card entry request acceptance is based on the following ranked criteria:

  1. Previous years' Worlds ranking
  2. Previous years' National Series ranking
  3. Current years' National Championship ranking

Unfortunately, riders who are not NZ citizens may not ride for NZ and should instead seek selection through the cycling federation aligned to their citizenship.
